The North Platte Wrestling Club, located in North Platte, Nebraska. The club consists of approximately 130 members ranging in age from 5 to 15 years of age.

WHEN IS THE SEASON?
The season runs January through April for general membership. The Elite Team will begin practice in Novemer. Practices are held two to three times during the week at the North Platte High School. You don't have to make every practice but the more you make, the more you learn. No attendance or penalty is given for not showing up to practices.

WHO CAN WRESTLE?
Any youth ages 5 through 8th grade interested in learning about wrestling. Even if you’ve never wrestled before, you are welcome to join. The youth wrestling program stresses the fundamentals of wrestling and good sportsmanship while building self-esteem.

WHAT IS THE COST?
$50.00 for Wrestling shirt, shorts and insurance. Singlets can be rented for additional $50.00 fee if desired, $40.00 will be returned when singlet is returned at the end of the season. You dont have to have a NPWC singlet but it helps the coaches see you easier on the mat if you have on one of these singlets.

ARE WRESTLING SHOES REQUIRED?
Wrestling shoes are not required but a dedicated pair of shoes for wrestling is requested to save wear and tear on the mats. Rocks and dirt from shoes can ruin the mats. We usually have a wrestling shoe exchange during the first few weeks of practice. Bring your shoes and put a price on them, you can get rid of old ones or get a cheap pair of shoes for the season.

WHERE ARE THE TOURNAMENTS?
The tournaments are held by local wrestling groups. North Platte will have one tournament in February. How many or how far you want to go for tournaments is completely up to you. The younger wrestlers usually go to the NP tournament and maybe Maxwell, Sutherland, Hershey, Gothenburg, etc. The older wrestlers that want the experience may travel as far as Omaha, Sidney, Scottsbluff, etc. We announce each week where the coaches will be going so that you can decide if you want to go to those tourneys or not or maybe there is another tourney you would rather go to.

WHAT DO THE TOURNAMENTS COST?
We have wrestlers that just go to one or two tournaments per season and some that go to 20 or more. It is up to you when you are available and how much time you want to put into wrestling. The tournaments are usually about $10-15 for admission of the wrestler and then $2-6 dollars for admission for audience. The money is used for trophies and medals for the kids.
